Celebrity sighting #2: George attacks Jenny Schecter’s dog

We were walking home this morning from a little run & swim (for Puca) at the dog beach this morning, when George started expressing... how shall I say... an intense dislike for a black dog ahead of him. For no reason. He kept pulling and huffing and puffing and making such a scene that the dog ahead of us and the woman walking her stopped to see what the fuss was all about. It was Jenny Schecter:

You know, Mia Kirshner who plays the irritating, neurotic writer named Jenny Schecter on the I-can't-believe-I-keep-watching-this-racist-crap L Word on Showtime.

She said her dog would be okay if I wanted to let George say hello. And because I was busy wondering in my head, "am I talking to Jenny Schecter?!?" I stupidly let George approach her dog -- which was clearly not a good idea since George has been hyperventilating with an inexplicable desire to attack this dog. He tried to bite -- a little nip around the knee since that's as high as George could get -- and Jenny Schecter's dog sort of flicked him away like, "what the hell is wrong with you?" And then Jenny Schecter's dog must have thought, again, "what the hell," because she then emptied her bladder right there in the middle of the sidewalk.

In the meantime, Puca was in one of those "everyone-is-after-my-tennis-ball" paranoia phases, and barked at both George and Jenny Schecter's dog to lay off her stinky ball. It was craziness all around.

So, all in all, we probably seemed to her like a gang of barely-combed, sweaty girls with a vicious little Maltese and a mud-covered ball maniac. In contrast, Jenny Schecter -- or Mia Kirshner -- was calm and collected and plenty pleasant, despite her total bed head. And quite friendly.

She told us that her mother has a couple of Malteses, and asked if George barks out the window all day, too. She looked mildly horrified at how poorly behaved our dogs were. Heh. And you know me -- that's gotta be one of the most embarrassing things. If the dogs behaved this badly in front of Jennifer Beals, for instance, I would have walked the rest of the way home crying.
