Praying for “Jong”

I get these 10/40 Window Daily Country Profile emails from the lovely folks at Window International Network. I know, they're really... "interesting."

Today's prayer target was Turkey and North Korea. Here are some highlights:

Turkey is comprised of 99.6% Muslims and only 0.3% of the population are Christians... Turkey is considered the largest unreached nation in the world. Few of the 66 million Muslims have ever heard the Gospel and only 15 of Turkey’s 80 provinces have a Christian church. Pray for laborers for this harvest field.

The alert on North Korea is even more interesting, if for unintended reasons:

Meanwhile, North Korean dictatator Kim Jong Il may have suffered a serious health setback after the 66-year-old dictator failed to appear at an important celebration of his country’s anniversary. Jong has no heir apparent and the floundering regime could collapse with his death, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Pray for the salvation of Jong and other North Korean leaders, and all prisoners and guards, and for all torture camps to be closed down.

Hmm... Jong has no heir apparent? There was no sign of Jong? Jong took over North Korea? Jong’s communist dictatorship? Are we on first name basis? Oh wait, I should say that's half-first-name basis.

Come on. At least get his name right if you're gonna pray for him. Which makes me wonder... If you pray for a man by the wrong name, what happens?

  1. According to Dave, “Jong” might already be dead….spooky. Anyhow, Ezra and I had a great time looking through all your Facebook photos this morning. Next time you skype with Ezra he just might be able to call George and Puca by name and call you Gomo (or has he already called you that?). :)
