Word:mac – Delete From Work Menu
From Word:mac
Download this free AppleScript to delete items from your Work Menu in Microsoft Word. A small dialog pops up and lists all your Work Menu items, and you just need to select the ones you want to remove. Or if you're clever, you can shift-click to select multiple. It worked with my Word 2008 for Mac.
What do I use the Work menu for anyway? Well, it's useful for frequently accessed documents (see below).
You can save the script into ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Word Script Menu Items or you can save it in /Library/Scripts like I did. It works fine.

thanks for that script. It works fine but I did not manage to integrate the command “delete item from menu” in the work menu itself like it shows on your picture above. I can only put it into the word script menu. How did you do that?

Not sure, gekkox — I just followed the instructions, and it worked for me!

Excellent!!!
It took me a few minutes to figure out that the instructions (using Ctrl+R) were written in the script itself.
Thank you so much.

I’ve spent too much time trying to get this to work. Unsuccessfully. I’ve read the instructions inside the script file, but am not clear on where/how to create the keyboard-command and how to get the “delete…” text into the Work menu.
Any help would be appreciated. Thx!
