Another theory could be that Koreans equate Christianity with modernity and Westernization. The Webberian idea of “puritan ethic” in reverse.

True, true. I’ll add that to the full-length version of my diss-in-comix. The equation of Christianity with modernity and Westernization is also linked to Theory #5 on liberal education, premised upon vision of a singular (monotheistic), progressive and linear (teleological) notion of modernity.
